Abstract

The Policy Guidelines on Agroecology Transitions in ASEAN were developed through an inclusive, multi-stakeholder process led by the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) under the Agroecology and Safe Food System Transitions (ASSET) project, and in support of the Lao facilitated Initiative on Agroecology for ASEAN (LICA) and the ASEAN Secretariat. The Policy Guidelines were adopted at the 45th Special Senior Officials Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry (SOM-AMAF) held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia on 6-8 August 2024; and further informed the 46th Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry (AMAF) held on 24 October 2024 virtually.
